NBA WCF Playoffs Betting Picks

We’ve officially reached the key point of the NBA season. With the Conference Finals upon us, teams are just four wins away from reaching the NBA Finals, and anything can happen at this point in the campaign.

It’s win-or-go-home time. An injury, a mistake, or a string of bad plays can send you packing. That’s why teams and players need to be at their best when they take the court for the upcoming matchups. With that in mind, we’ll take a look at Game 1 of the Western Conference Finals.

Minnesota Timberwolves vs. Dallas Mavericks

The Minnesota Timberwolves took the Denver Nuggets’ punches and weathered the storm to send the defending champions back home. Now, they’ll host a Dallas Mavericks team fresh off upsetting the No. 1 seed Oklahoma City Thunder.

Chris Finch’s team defense has been the best in the game, but Dallas’ isn’t that far behind. We should be in for a very physical and hard-fought series between two teams that take pride on that end of the floor.

That’s why we believe we’re in for a low-scoring matchup in Game 1, as both teams will look to establish their dominance in the paint and control the tempo of the game in an old-school matchup.

Pick: Under 207.5

We also believe the Minnesota Timberwolves will end up on top, as they’ve been one of the best home teams in the league, and while the Dallas Mavericks are also carrying some momentum, they’re fresh off beating the defending champions in back-to-back games.

Pick: Timberwolves -4

Jeffrey McWhorter / AP

When it comes to scoring, Anthony Edwards is coming off a subpar shooting night, and it’s not usual to see him struggle from the floor two games in a row. That’s why we like his chances of leading the way offensively in Game 1.

Pick: Edwards over 28 points.
